We could debate how well the Claremont/Byrne era was adapted. The term ‘In name Only” comes to mind.

FOX’s efforts to reboot the X-Men were all horribly planned, horribly conceived and horribly executed example of just plain bad cinema. What they did (in my mind) doesn’t even count as efforts to remember....much like the horrid Inhumans TV show.

You know what would make the MCU X-Men “weird”? If they actually used the comics as a true guideline....adapt the great stories from the comics to fit within the MCU framework...and make X-Men movies with the characters accurately portrayed in well written, well executed movies.

Fox never did the X-Men accurately enough for Marvel Studios to ever be concerned about reminding people of those movies.
