The notion that Millar, a writer by profession, failed to communicate his reasoning properly is telling indeed.

The problem is some comics publishers decide to age their characters and give them children....and then those kids grow up to become heroes while the original character hasn’t aged much at all. That automatically sets a time line that screws up all around it.

I think in Civil War he was a bit of a prick because as a government agent supporting the newly sign Accords, he felt like he some something OVER the superheroes. Like he was in control of them.

No, the characters clearly aren’t worthless. It’s how the characters are brought to life on the screen that exposes their value.
