It's like "'Ey yinz, I got dat part ya needed through da CNC. I'm goin' up to da stockroom if ya need anything."

My graduate department's machine shop is run by a lifelong Pittsburgher. He sounds EXACTLY like this. It's a hard accent to imitate, but it's very unique.

Yeah, soul food originated because we had the scraps. It's a testament to black people that we were able to make deliciousness out of yard bird, assorted pig parts, and cheap veggies.

Admittedly, I'm new to Pittsburgh (moved here last August for grad school), but I picked up that the two or three remaining black neighborhoods had pretty good senses of community. I definitely felt more welcome in the black neighborhoods than the mostly Jewish neighborhood where I reside.

I used to work in trucking at one of the shipping majors in a border state. Unsurprisingly, my site was full of people who wanted to Make America Great Again. At first, I had some sympathy (because there are very real problems that demographic faces). And then enough nights of hearing about how evil and corrupt

Easy. People don't like admitting they're wrong.

Yeah, they didn't have to have those mac n cheese smiles…

Haha, literally? I used to live in Arizona and everywhere looks green now as a result. I miss sometimes, believe it or not.

Yeah, ugh. When I saw Elizabeth Warren first excoriate Ben Carson and then turn around and support his nomination like "Well, I think he gets the monumental task ahead of him", I was done.

Van Jones must be trying to get his own show and be "moderate." (Or maybe he saw the 401k plan at Fox News and is going for the Fox News Minority gig.) That cut to the wife was cringe worthy and incredibly opportunistic. Plus, Trump still talked about the record applause—-he's still a reality show huckster at his core.

Same, but I get that it's a hardship for many. When I was in DC, it was pretty much guaranteed you'd be at least summoned every two years like clockwork.

That last paragraph tho.

I couldn't get into Gladwell, either. I'm glad I'm not alone in that.

Where in Arizona? I'm outside Phoenix now and the struggle is real. I love the sunsets and mountains too! I didn't get why anyone would willingly do outdoorsy things until I lived here. But yeah, the sprawl and lack of diversity are getting to me.

Yeah, I'd say the same argument applies for late night talk shows as well. There are so many other mediums for comedy now and the interviews always consist of canned anecdotes and/or PR material.

Real Sports is my shit, though. And I'm not even much of a sports person.

The blue people literally had dreadlocks.

He was so distracting in that movie.

Yeah, I haven't cringed so hard in a movie after I heard Octavia Butler doing a monologue about how much she loves frying chicken.
