I usually pirate TurboTax Premier, then pay their $20 state filing fee.  I used Credit Karma’s free service this year, and had no issues with it despite belatedly reading some negative reviews after the fact.  Got a touch paranoid and went through the process again in TurboTax, where the result was just a dollar off.
