I have a somewhat unisex first name (both men and women have my first name but the vast, vast majority of time it’s spelled the way mine is, it’s a woman’s name). When my title had an “Assistant” in it, I never once received a work email or letter addressed to Mr. Mylastname. Now that my title has a “Manager” in it,

It was really weird. She started screaming before the descent started. It really seemed to be in response to a particular flight attendant! As we were descending, I managed to calm her briefly then that flight attendant walked by and cooed at her again and my daughter absolutely flipped out again! I tried to nurse but

I flew with my 6 month old at Thanksgiving and was so worried. My daughter was really quiet and happy until just before we started the descent, at which point she had a meltdown for some reason after the flight attendant talked to her. She screamed nonstop until I was able to stand up with her no matter what I did to

Yesterday I was at a grocery store and, while I was bundling my daughter up to go back outside, I overheard the manager berating an employee. The employee had been cleaning up around the garbage bins. In the process of cleaning, he'd moved the bins briefly and then put them back. Apparently the employee was assigned

I don't get it, either. Like you, I wouldn't chug down a glass but I wanted to see what I was feeding my daughter so I had a little. It surprised me that it was so sweet but it was far from gross or disgusting in any way.

I hope they get the birth experience they want, but their certainty about when the baby will arrive and exactly how the experience will go comes off a bit naïve (or, at least, overly optimistic) to me, all other ridiculousness of their request aside.

I've been trying to find one, too, with no luck. I have a 2 month old. I'm not sure if there's private messaging here, or how it works if there is, but if you ever want to chat let me know! One of the greatest things for my pregnancy and new motherhood has been having a friend who was 8 weeks further along than me. We

I'm also in Canada (Victoria) and went to a local motherhood and baby store where they insisted I try them on before buying! Victoria's pretty hippie-ish, but also super small, and we have a couple of similar stores that sell them so maybe there'd be something like that where you live?

The Motherhood (and Thyme, if you have one where you are) bras suck. I have had some luck with the Medela nursing bras, though. They're not pretty but they're comfortable (on me) and do the job. I'm a 34DD when not nursing.

These things are both far, far easier said than done — I know because I'm speaking from experience here — but here are my two recommendations:

I downloaded a free white noise app for my phone when I was staying in a super noisy hotel while on vacation. I slept SO WELL despite the noise that I started using it at home all the time. I'm still not a big sleeper (I average 6 to 7 hours per night) but the quality of my sleep is much better so I'm not tired during

I have super thin eyebrows and although they're mostly dark they don't show up in pictures at all unless I put stuff in them. I know that I'd probably be annoyed by waxing/threading if I needed it, but having a noticeable brow is a huge deal in terms of framing your facial features. The brow makeup is sometimes the

That was my feeling, too! I figured if I stretched out my pre-pregnancy clothes and had to buy new ones they'd be for my "new" body and it would be a nice pick me up. I will say I am (or was before the baby dropped last week) carrying pretty high so that likely did help with everything continuing to fit. I was really

I'd just like to preface this by saying I'm only saying this because I was terrified before I got pregnant because of having read/heard things like this. I know it might read like bragging, so I'm kind of hesitant to post it but I also think that it's sometimes good to not scare people and to recognize that

I was just told a big weight for the baby I'm currently brewing (I'm 36 weeks) and have been kind of obsessively worried about it since I heard it. Even though I know ultrasounds are inaccurate, I didn't know why. I feel much better now. (Though a giant head isn't the thing I most want at this juncture!) Thank you!

No, I don't think that was it... I wish I could remember its name. It didn't have a catchy name so I've somehow blocked it out, apparently!

I had an allergic reaction to Wellbutrin that made my tongue and mouth incredibly itchy and swollen feeling. My psychiatrist said the symptoms would probably go away after a couple of weeks, but since it made me feel like I was drunk constantly (you know when you're drunk and try to focus a lot on forming words so you

Thanks, random internet person, but I'll take advice from my midwife, Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and the March of Dimes. But thanks for the judgement!

Oh, I feel your pain! (I mean, overall my pregnancy hasn't been awful, but the constant pain I'm now in is getting a little old.) Also, my midwife told me there was no issue with drinking coffee, so I love her.

7.5 months pregnant here, also drinking coffee while reading this. We're such rebels.
