Make a FT86 competitor, and call it, I dunno, the Silvia, maybe?

BMW would build it, but then they’d think they were special enough to charge $150k for it, which they aren’t.
WRC for life!
Nobody’s going to buy a $150k Integra.
It’s frustrating to see something this well-appointed and attractive, and then basically anything from Lexus next to it. Toyota is not only capable of competing with the Germans - clearly, they’re capable of crushing them. If they wanted to do so.
I think the Supra’s asking will come down, since it’s definitely going to be cross-shopped with the ‘Vette.
$10k more than a Supra’s MSRP.
Probably more like $10k less than a Supra.
Nobody said a 4Runner? What the fuck is wrong with you people!
Starting at $74,999...
You don’t need it to be hardcore offroad, I don’t think. A version of the Focus RS AWD system would do for 99% of the people who wanted to offroad this new trucklet.
Platform is a pretty loose term these days. It could have a completely different front end than the current Transit. It’s not like the Transit was made to be pretty, either. It was made to be functional, first. It does that quite well.
Yep. This here. Makes way more sense than the Focus.
I’m gonna throw my hat out there, and say it’s probably based on the Transit Connect platform. Makes more sense.
I think the FR configuration will go to Cadillac. Think of a replacement XLR.
Since you suggested a used German car for reliability, I’m going to assume you don’t come here much.
To be fair, I live just over on the other side of the Rockies from you. I feel you. That’s why I wrote the novel above on a complete overhaul. The GR series as a whole is ancient.
Well, I think a refit of the 1GR is in order - specifically for direct injection. A 4.0 DI 1GR could probably hit 300hp/300ft-lb and gain a little ground on the MPG front.
“German reliability”
The Highlander is *slightly* larger (longer, specifically) than a 4Runner. Probably not.
New FJ?
