I see superpowered individuals in tights fighting for control of the Earth, I assume family movie. Are superhero movies gritty adult dramas now?

People are upset because a woman being choked, regardless of context, is an upsetting visual. The scene is justified in the movie, given that the supervillain is a supervillain and the superhero had just gone within melee range of the supervillain in an attempt to murder him. Still an awkward choice for a poster.
