So...because he was a terrible person, that means we should mock him for having a disease he couldn’t control, a disease that also affects millions of Americans? I don’t understand why people think that because he was bad, we should mock him for having Alzheimer’s. Can’t we just mock him for being bad?

I would 100% be down for a movie mocking his terrible presidency, but sadly I think I agree that jokes revolving around his disease are unnecessary.

It took my grandmother and her brother within two months of each other. Reading Davis’ letter brought back so much pain. She is so spot on with the horror of it all, and what it does to families as they helplessly watch someone they love slip away. I will be angry with Alzheimer’s for the rest of my life for robbing

I mean, I fucking hate Reagan, but 1. I don’t blame his children for that, nor do I expect them to hate their father 2. I don’t think this project would do ANYTHING to take down Reagan mythology - it would either be preaching to the choir or fodder to ~outrage~ his conservative fan club. There are tons of substantive

As someone whose grandparents both suffered from dementia, I certainly don’t think it’s a laughing matter (but hey, different strokes for different folks), but I find it even worse that Ferrell would use a real historical figure for this, particularly one whose immediate family is still alive. It just seems incredibly

I've already apologized. I thought I was the only one who loved it. I stand corrected. Never been so happy to be proved wrong by a bunch of Jezzies :)

It’s never was a children’s book. Look up the description in the Library of Congress. Younger folks only know the cartoon so there has been a misassumption that it was for kids. The book is a thousand pages and as dark as Animal Farm and adults made it best seller at its release in 1972.

I don’t think it was intended to be a children’s book, but people decided it was because of the rabbits.

is it though? I feel like when it first came out it really wasn’t advertised as such but because it was about animals people decided it was for kids.

Don’t worry, you don’t need Tinder to get yourself murdered by a man. You can meet your murderer in a bar, walking to your car, at school, on vacation... heck, you can even be married to him for years! My point is Tinder is as safe as meeting a man any other way. Don’t let fear keep you from dating.

I miss Millihelen. I love the Beauty Thread, though.

BEAUTY THREAD!

Well that’s the problem with people who have a strong history of depression. Its fine and normal to say you want to be alone when something like this happens, but they can go to weird places.
My sister committed suicide and I heard “I just want to be alone right now” all the damn time leading up to it.
People are meant

I go back and forth on it. I imagine the people who are close with him do both - publicly and privately express condolences. I always find the tweets a little tacky, but I don’t WANT to feel that way because it makes me feel so cynical. Also, this is how many people communicate these days, and I’m sure most of them

I agree. I never post any kind of condolences on facebook because i feel its more for other people to see that i posted something to that person, which makes it about me. I know that is the new social climate but its weird and unhealthy. I send the person a direct message.

I think its so self centered to put shit like this on Twitter. If you know him just give him a call or something, don't post your self serving bullshit for everyone to see.

I like to make myself taller, do a head nod and say ‘Sup brah’ so they know I am the dominant bro.

How can they be your favorite when there is that Jennifer Lawrence and Lil Wayne rumor that I am starting right this minute?

SERIOUSLY. That’s where this all boils down to me- I keep my head down and my mind on *my* business when I’m in the can. I could be peeing next to a Vulcan and a goblin for all the attention I give.
