Yeah, sorry if I came across as defensive. I got you were in my side. But people are being soooooooooo naive? And hostile about this! Like damn everyone, cool out.

I was on the fence for a long time. I think I have finally decided to vote Hillary. I’m enthused by Bernie’s ideas, but he seems much too vague on the execution and I’m really disappointed in the fact that he’s a big fat no comment on all the misogyny being tossed towards Hillary and Hillary supporters.

I voted for Hillary in my primary. And I struggled for a few months before the vote. I’ve worked on the Obama campaign since his IL Senate run. I believed in him and knocked on doors and made phone calls and knocked on doors and made phone calls .. for YEARS. I know what it takes to make the anti-establishment

I’m voting for Hillary in the California primary. I think she is a policy wonk who really knows her stuff and she prioritizes reproductive rights, equal pay and paid family medical leave rather than treating them as afterthoughts or “women’s issues” to be shunted off to the side. Also, since we represent 53% of the

He has no foreign policy experience, which the only thing the President actually has complete control over. I like him, but I don’t like the his mouthpieces have been making sexist comments lately and I think Hillary is one hundred times more qualified (and actually she seems more intelligent too, when watching them

Foreign Affairs is really the ONLY thing the President has complete power over as far as the enumerated powers in the constitution goes. Everything else gets vetted in checks and balances. Hands down, she is the ONLY candidate period with foreign policy experience, and that is why I believe we need her.

I hope you don’t mind that I’m recycling this response from another post, but it’s a long response and the questioner basically asked why I was excited about voting for Hillary. Good luck making your decision!

For a long time, I wasn’t going to bother with the primary at all, because I was equally not-enthused-but-not-hating them. But I’ve decided to show up and vote Hilary after all, because I don’t think Bernie has strong enough plans to actually pull off implementing anything he’s talked about.

I voted for Hillary for a whole host of reasons. 1. I think she’s the most qualified candidate by a longshot. 2. I think she’s got a good balance of idealism and pragmatism. 3. Bernie’s populism is appealing to me, but I can’t see any way for his rhetoric to translate into action with Congress as we have it. 4. I

BEAUTY THREAD!

It’s about the least shady response she could have.

Sigh. Of course they have to monitor the ones they have released. And it also should be mentioned that the mating habits of California condors contribute to smaller numbers of births.

Except that zoos don’t really make money off animals, some can hardly pay their staff a living wage. A lot of the larger zoos that do have $ actually fund amazing conservation efforts locally and abroad, and have fantastic educational programs. Sanctuaries don’t actually do anything to promote conservation, most large

Right? I grew up with a sad zoo. I GET IT. But now that I live with one of the best zoos in the world (San Diego) I see firsthand the difference it makes in people's love of animals. But god damn, people are getting mad at me saying SOME ZOOS are good.

“This analogy is bad. We “need” hospitals. We don’t have hospitals to make money while exploiting humans while also engaging in some humanitarian efforts with the profits.”

There are many efforts that accredited zoos and aquariums have done reintroduction efforts. Black footed ferrets, the endemic birds of Guam, American bison, Blue billed curassow, California condors, Puerto Rican crested toads, American burying beetles, and MANY other species.

And a lot of so-called sanctuaries are basically just collections of exotic pets that people found a way to get other people to fund, by claiming to be a sanctuary.

That rather goes without saying. But that is true of most things. Good facilities should not be attacked for the unethical behavior of others. Yet this point seems to escape people when the topic is zoos. So maybe I need to put it in terms that people will better understand. Using an unethical facility in Argentina to

Unpopular opinion: zoos done right are ok. Yes the animal is sacrificing something for our gain, and that is a sad truth and one we should tell our children and always be aware of, but a zoo with a focus on conservancy and education rather than a focus in fun and silliness is a worthwhile thing, in my opinion.

You are so right. Also i think the risks are higher for animal keepers and handlers because their emotional attachment to the animals makes them a little too trusting.
