Thank you! That comment was nasty and un-called for.

Yeah, one of my closest friends dropped out of a top med-school to become a flight attendant. She just really loves getting paid well to travel, and I can totally understand why.

I know one flight attendant. We went to a top 25 law school together.

Let’s split the difference and agree that the flight attendant is an idiot without insulting people based on their professions.

She’s no worse that Twain. In any way. Come on now. They’re both pop performers.

I can recall a couple of headlines on this site recently that seemed designed to feed into suspicions about the robbery. One of them highlighted that no security footage was found of the attack when the article itself noted that security cameras were not placed well and it was easy to evade them.

I’m old with 3 grown kids and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reassuring me that there are rational adults out there who are younger than me. This thread was kinda scaring me on that score. I was beginning to wonder if there were actually any sane parents out there.

“Today, we’re closer than ever to being able to buy or rent the company of artificially intelligent machines, and ones we might believe could love us back”

Maybe it’s because I’m an old, but I seem to recall that being able to spell and verify names were once core requirements for writing professionally.

Oh proofreading. I weep for your death, and you will be missed.

I’ve read that entire section numerous times, and I still have no idea what its supposed to say.

Most of the living people’s names are wrong, too. I’d love to get Kenan’s reaction to being called “Kenyan.”

Who edited this post and thought that transition from Robin William’s dementia to “the death drive” sentence was a good idea? How awkward and poorly constructed.

You are confusing the NYT with a place that hires and keeps people based on merit, instead of political expediency, family connections, etc.

AHH JEALOUS! Seeing Radiohead live is on my bucket list. There’s this live acoustic recording of “You” that gets me in tears every damn time I listen to it.

I’ve been reading Jez for a while but mostly frequented Gawker so I guess I’m one of those Gawkfugees you’re referring to.

Have you made a formal complaint about this Prof yet? I’ve followed all that you’ve been posting and I’m disgusted by the Professor. I think you need to make formal complaints every time it’s warranted. It’s just like the corporate/ professional world, the “higher ups” don’t know unless the student/client/consumer is

I’m not sure if this is a brag, but I finally found the mate of a shoe I had been looking for. It was far underneath the bed. When I reached for it, I got stuck. Since I was stuck and alone, I just decided to just stay there and take a nap. Oddly, it was a relaxing and needed nap. Eventually I found the strength

Oh darlin, I’m so sorry. I just lost an arts industry job yesterday, and I am about to give up on the whole frakking industry- I think people are so desperate for arts jobs that they’ll put up with anything just for the honor, and I’m not that person. We were all told to “do what you love” and I’m not sure I want to

rarely ever, it wouldnt be socially acceptable, i think...but maybe one day!
