Honda was not involved in any way with this car. You're thinking of the Sterling 825 and 827, which came out later. But yeah, it's hard to fuck up Honda reliability.
While I wouldn't expect either one to be reliable, Jaguar made more desirable versions of the XJ6 sedan in earlier and later years. The Rover is a 4 door hatchback version of the Triumph TR8, in spirit. I can't help but want that.
