Except (and as someone with ZERO Spanish/Portuguese) even I could have guessed that contra meant “against” or “oppose” ie CONTRAindicated, CONTRAlateral, CONTRAception.

Even if you don’t know Spanish, contra is used as a prefix in English. It still means “against” or “opposite of.”

I saw this earlier today and it gave me my single biggest (non-hysterical) laugh of this cycle.

I just watched the entire thing. Hillary absolutely killed this shit. Spot on with her timing and delivery. Every jab she threw landed, and every swing she took hit hard. She even squashed the “booooo” moments with quick retorts.

Donald Trump getting booed by a room full of rich Republicans was the highlight of my week. So was President Clinton saying that Trump would rank the Statue of Liberty a 4, but maybe an 8 if she lost the torch and robe.

The left always has better jokes and joke writers because they punch up, whereas republicans find humor(?) in doing the opposite. And that line about “Governor Cuomo and Mayors Bloomberg, Dinkins, DeBlasio...so many honorable elected officials here with us tonight...and then there’s Rudy Giuliani...” Nice.

Trump failed and got booed because he didn’t tell jokes. Other than a few jokes to start and the sick burn on his wife, he just gave his normal Trump stump speech.

He really tanked. It started when he “joked” (not sure how this was at all a joke?) about Hillary hating Catholics to a ROOM FULL OF CATHOLICS and then went downhill from there. On the other hand, HRC had some great one-liners and didn’t cross any lines. He can’t even do a light-hearted speech right. I can’t wait…
