I’m still waiting for Dorothy Malone’s obituary.
CineCraft is still waiting for Luise Rainier’s obituary.
I can’t remember whose obituary Mr. Greene was waiting for, but he sure was mad about it.

The initial thing has been going on a while, especially in s-f. CJ Cherryh, Andre Norton (okay, not initials, but more ambiguous than “Alice”), and even JK Rowling. I just read that Ursula Le Guin was once convinced to credit a story as UK Leguin but never did it again.
Fucking preach it, brother. I am not a Dylan fan, but is someone is, that’s fine by me.
Christ, that was unbelievable. A whole planet of excellent writers and they go with Bob Dylan.
I’m still furious the Nobel committee ran out of eligible male writers to give it to and lobbed one at Bob Dylan instead.
This is a huge, huge bummer. She was a tremendously gifted, visionary writer. The Left Hand of Darkness changed the way I looked at the world, what more could you ask for from a novel?
I think they should just put the Oscar in a pit and release the nominees from a cage. The winner is whoever emerges from the pit alive.
“This is the earliest I remember this “regaining our/getting back in touch with our lost manhood” sentiment surfacing, though I may be wrong.”

I hope Tom Cruise is playing Manson
Ugh, that article says they may cast Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate, which means QT is probably going to stage the murders, which means this entire project can go fuck itself.
I don’t agree with your opinion, but I damned well respect it.
If I remember Helter Skelter right, either Spahn Ranch was an old movie set and one of the ranch hands was a C-list actor who played bit parts in the movies they filmed there. (George Spahn was an rich dude with a ranch and Manson finagled his was in via some squicky use of the women (I want to say Sadie or Squeaky),…
This is going to be one weird-ass Star Trek film.
Isn’t he pretty much a surrogate for Polanksi in Venus in Fur?
I’m not the only one who saw the headline and thought it would be Governor Reagan, right?
I too liked The Hateful Eight more than Django which I thought was poorly put together and just not very good at all. Truth be told, I didn’t really love TH8 either... it just rehashed everything he’s done before, which is ironic because that’s all QT just steals from everyone else anyway. I dunno. This new one at…
With the crappy TV western and the spaghetti westerns, I’m guessing he’s playing some sorta version of Clint Eastwood?
