The city does not have to impose anything and never has previously.

It’s not “usually paid back to the municipality.” This is a hike in ticket prices. Just like any other business, a hike in ticket prices usually goes to the business owner. They are calling it a tax but when there is hike by a business owner and prices and that immediately goes back to the business, it’s just a hike.

This is wrong. The city is capped at putting $500M. The owners are putting in whatever the rest of it will cost, estimated an additional $500M. If it is more, the owners have a right to increase ticket and parking to offset costs. They are calling that increase a tax but it’s still an increase in ticket and parking

They are building a Live! facility near Arlington so presumably they will get more in the future.

This is not how state and local governments interact. The State of Texas actually has nothing to do with this. The individual cities are involved. Saying they are shifting money around the state is pointless - like saying they are shifting money around the United States.

Definitely not tax payers. The guys paying the tickets maybe but they are the ones paying to go to ballgames and have a choice in it

If it’s a scam, who is getting conned? Doesn’t seem like it’s the city. The ticket payers? I still don’t see how this is any different than the Rangers just hiking ticket prices themselves - which they do every year

Except, in this specific case, that’s not accurate. The people that go to Rangers (or Cowboys) games are largely not Arlington residents. They are residents of the metroplex. If they are going to movies or restaurants, they would do so in Dallas or their own suburb.

So if the Rangers just decided that they would increase the cost of tickets to pay for their share, would that be ok?

That squat video looks really bad. Really arching the back. Is trying to hit parallel but is just bending over at the waist instead of at the knees. Just bad.

Is George supposed to be George Washington? Maybe some historical accuracy would have helped but there is no way George Washington was forcing Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration.

Always

Or how about an easy way to switch WiFi networks instead of going three screens deep into Settings? Either one would do wonders.

Hey asshole, eat Phil Kessel’s shit, cumstain.

Yeah, this is incorrect. I’m sure you would try to bring this up as evidence of something but the attorneys who actually prosecute would tell you that it is not an actual admission of guilt

No recollection is a perfectly fine answer

Remember - he’s still going to teach classes at the law school.
