Had not considered those things at all.  Thanks.

What is the point of the smaller 35lb bar - other than to make me upset when I get stuck with it?

It’s weird that anybody thought it was wussy. If anything it’s the opposite since it helps to make sure you don’t cheat with your back. Of course, most people don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to gym equipment.

Any front office that still manages to leave behind incriminating digital evidence in 2019 probably deserves to get its picks snatched.”

Or just don’t say anything.  Nobody told him to grandstand.

You tagged the last yogurt “Yogurt C.

I’ll put maybe a controversial one out there: Circuit trainer.

I don’t agree with this. I get supersets are a thing but they are not everybody’s thing. What is pretty common is resting in between sets. The rest period for the workout I’m doing is about 2-3 minutes per set. It is also a common rule of thumb that if you are going to try again after a failed set, you should wait

How do the text messages prove he sexually assaulted her?  It doesn’t prove that anything was non-consensual, does it?  Maybe I missed the text messages you are talking about (what look kind of like emails?).

I don’t have a lot of time in the morning so when my wife got me lifting shoes, I decided to just wear those and run the 5 minutes to the gym. What a disaster. My feet hurt in places I never knew existed. I’m not sure I even want to walk that far in lifting shoes.

True enough about stripping the weight off but maybe the failure means you should leave the next set for another day?

I don’t think 327,200,000 people all vape.  So...math better.

This is similar to the fear of getting caught under the bar in a bench press. People see a video where a guy with 4 or 5 plates on each end have their quad tear or leg snap and get really scared. For the vast vast majority of people, you are lifting a weight that is just slightly greater than the weight right before

Ugh - screwed up my post.  Meant to say fat % detectors - not BMI readings.  BMI is obviously very objective but too one size fits all

The science behind this story has also been called into question.  It’s one anecdote and there were several doctors that questioned the legitimacy of losing eyesight strictly from mineral deficiency.  There was also concern about taking the boy’s word on what he ate.

Is it?  An absolute BMI reading using any of the common BMI detectors might as well be a random number generator.  Those things seem to only be good for relative readings

Or f0llow the advice of literally EVERYBODY IN THIS THREAD is saying and don’t bother me.

You missed the whole point of the article. Even if you have best of intentions and think you are being friendly, it’s 99% of the time an unwanted intrusion into a personal activity. Working out is not communal. I go to the gym with the intention of exerting a ton of effort, sweating, making weird grimacing faces, and

Sure, but you also don’t need quick reaction times. Most people who have been lifting for even a minute aren’t going to pick some weight that just comes crashing down on their chest immediately upon unracking. At most, you’ll try to lift up, won’t be able, the bar will descend and maybe rest on (not crush) your chest

Not a bad idea. I do have an Amazon card but I guess I wasn’t aware Amazon sells new iPhones. I guess I could get a used one.
