Well, I don’t know that she holds herself out to be something more than that. She gets deified by others (like Bobby) and she does do a service by writing roles for minorities, which is necessary. But I’m sure she realizes that her shows are more fun than anything else.

I didn’t watch the show but I remember looking to wikipedia summaries to figure out what she was talking about. I seem to remember that she made the statement before weird shit started happening and coming to the conclusion that the weird shit was the show’s response to her comments.

Why don’t you let the real lawyers talk. He pled guilty. The plea agreement states the terms by which he pled guilty. The only thing left is his sentencing.

The point is he can’t really mount a defense that suggests that anything in the factual basis is incorrect. That’s the problem. So what is there left to do? Argue that what’s in there is not enough to convict him?

How is that coercion? Those are the facts. I mean, you want there to be a way where a guy who actually committed rape to get a lighter sentence for no reason?
