How hilarious that Trump demands laws be followed, how conservatives wanted to impeach Obama for not enforcing the laws, and now that Trump is instructing the IRS and EPA to stop enforcing laws you hear crickets from all these “principled” conservatives.

Thank god corruption in professional soccer isn’t dead, otherwise nothing in this world would make sense anymore.

You had me at “Oakleys from 1994"... the image I held as well.

OH fuck off. What you say is only true if proportion is ignored. More whites are killed by police, but that’s only because most of the population is white.

He also looks like a thumb dipped in feces but I don’t see you pointing that out!

They give military experience preference in hiring police, in most places. That’s why so many of them look like they just dropped in from Fallujah. That’s not to say it’s a good idea, but they think “well this guy knows how to follow orders without asking why and keep his uniform clean” without considering how much

A lot of people join the military because they wanted to kill people. At least, a lot of people I’ve talked to.

Yeah, this guy looks 100% exactly like the kind of fucking lunatic that would fire a rifle into a car full of teenagers and then lie about it. I’m right on board with you - this is precisely the mental picture I formed when first reading about Jordan.

Can confirm. My uncle is a retired cop from the Naperville, Illinois area and he checks all these boxes - including fat red melon head. His facebook is a slew of the nastiest alt-right bullshit you’ve ever seen. I hate that fucker so much.

As someone with loads of experience both within the military, and now with law enforcement, i can say you’re flat out incorrect. While everything you say makes sense, it doesn’t end up working out that way.

I came to say pretty much exactly this, although, as many other commenters have said, I don’t agree that military service makes one a more effective law enforcement officer because war is very different than community policing. If you treat the community you’re working in as a war zone, then you’re probably gonna end

Yeah I think you’re right on

I don’t know if military training makes a better cop. Based off what I’ve experienced, it’s pretty split with a lot of veterans not adapting to the civilian police force, and doing a few years then leaving or others that buy into it wholeheartedly.

The enlisted ranks are also more diverse than the officer ranks, although I’ve seen that getting a little better.

I would argue that the military sets you on a collision course with the requirements of a civilian police role.

Wow, that doesn’t surprise me and makes a lot of sense.

It’s worth noting that combat arms branches (like Infantry and Armor) are also far whiter than the support branches (like the Logistics branches).
