You’re right. Several of these in my extended family. They plow thru slush and eat gravel roads for breakfast.....along with quarts and quarts of oil.

I hit lots of bugs driving my Bug to work and use wiper fluid to clean it off. Glass is totally defective. It should repel bugs, and create more wiper fluid. Totally going to get VW to buy this Bug back.

Can’t convince the wife to go minivan (though I’ve tried) for the sliding doors & cargo. Wish that Mazda thing was still around, or better yet they took it and made it bigger (CX9-Sliding door edition).

I’m close to 40k/yr in my Jetta wagon w/ >170k. Haven’t had to do fix/replace jack on it. Its been incredibly reliable to date. Though I think the alternator (battery light turning on/off at highway speed) is starting to act up.

What about pre-modern tires? Post-Modern?
