I’m with you, I’m on ep 10 or 11 of the podcast, I’ve been amazed by how much time I’ve spent thinking that I couldn’t convict the guy. I couldn’t. I just feel too firmly that there is reasonable doubt. He’s a scummy husband, no question. But I think it’s very possible it was an accident.

It happens multiple times every year regardless of the circumstances. I’m not saying he’s innocent. I agree that it’s hard to imagine forgetting your child that you were just eating breakfast with a few minutes before. But that’s not even evidence. That’s just conjecture.

That ended up not being true. The cops leaked that publicly, but during the trial, it came out that he had not in fact googled how long in took for kids to die in hot cars. I’m in Atlanta and I’ve watched the case closely, and while I come down slightly on the side of guilty, the cops weren’t great with communications

I think most of the cases where people did tragically leave a baby in the car, it was because they had varied from their usual routine, like they were supposed to do daycare drop-off and they didn’t normally do that, and the baby was either young enough to not do much interacting and was in a rear-facing seat or was

I agree. I read the daily transcripts and am shocked that he was convicted. It was very clear to me that he did not know his son was in the car all day, and that allegation he did this intentionally was just preposterous. This may be manslaughter, but there was zero evidence he intended to leave his child in the car

Anyone who actually followed the trial or listened to the podcast Breakdown which went into detail about everything would probably not feel comfortable either. For chrissakes, even his wife testified on his behalf and she dumped him. What he made was a mistake and he was a shitty dude. Doesn’t mean he should go away

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has been reporting on the case and have a podcast about it that goes deeper into the facts than most other coverage which seems primarily focused on just reporting what the prosecution says.

Based on everything I’ve heard and read about the case, I don’t think that I would have felt comfortable convicting him. Now, the police officer who was caught on video shooting a man in the back, yes. He’s guilty. But I’m not so sure with Harris.

Yea, when you cede the moral high ground to fucking ARAMARK, you might want to reassess your life.

Usually, I despise Aramark and their ‘values’..but not this time!

Baseball is the only sport that actually looks like America.

Currently pregnant, can’t smell electricity, but I can smell man funk from 50 paces.

Lolz! If I were Chelsea, I’d be in full Cry Me A River mode!

“Sorry Barron, it sucks to be scrutinized for every little thing because your parent decided to run for President. But hey, at least you won’t have anyone on the left calling you the First Dog”

Has it occurred to her that it might help if her own husband stopped making fun of the disabled?

No, I’m guessing he thinks all are mind control and blights on the African American community.

PP acknowledges that Sanger held some horrific beliefs. Her beliefs have nothing to do with the services they provide now. Unfortunately many things were founded by people who held shitty beliefs.

Yeah. I agree with that. Understanding part of the history of PP and how racism intersects there, too, is valid. But, it’s also important to recognise how the organisation has progressed away from those ideologies, too.

They’ve actually addressed Margret Sanger’s beliefs, and that they don’t promote or believe these things today.

McDonald’s is Eugenics? Public school are eugenics? Words do not have a meaning anymore, I’d like fish in my coffee, hat!
