Holy crap. That's ridiculously great news. I get to save $100 a month and STILL watch the handful of shows I actually care about. Nice!

I effectively gave up on Dexter and Weeds by cancelling my cable last month. Maybe I'll eventually catch up when the DVDs come out, but it won't be a high priority. It will suck when Mad Men and Louie start back though.
Another proud moment in Alabama history:
Actually, Rabin's voice was pretty well mic'd on Gilmartin's podcast. I didn't find myself constantly adjusting the volume like I used to with the AV Club podcasts. It's a really good listen too. I feel stupid for not even knowing Rabin had a book.
Yeah, I've always heard him give all credit for his political material to Jim Downey, who does happen to be a conservative.
There are few discussions more boring to me than "Who was the first punk band?"… HOWEVER, I was a little surprised that the writer didn't mention that this Average Joe would be dead wrong to think the Sex Pistols were the first punk band.
I'm not always crazy about Kindler, but I thought his NNF episode was great.
I hate to admit it, but I kind of agree with the OP that the past couple of seasons have been a little weak. The newer, more actor-y guests just aren't as fun as the usual rotating cast. I do understand their desire to get some new blood into the mix and that they don't want to exhaust guys like Tompkins and Aukerman,…
Considering the circle of comics Patrice runs with, I highly doubt he was really that offended. I think he was playing it up.
Yeah, I was cracking up over Patrice's audible "goddamn!"s after certain punchlines.
After re-watching Holy Mountain yesterday, I've got to wonder… what was it with the 70s and naked kids?
So are they finally going to re-release it with the original cover art?
In fairness to Comedy Central, that list is pretty old. I don't think Louis C.K. had done a full hour special by that point.
"He confesses with heroic candor" from the GG Allin write up.
Tom's improvised vocals for the two instrumental Pet Sounds tracks and his running commentary on "Chestnut Mare" alone should have put it with The Best.
Yeah, seems like kind of a no-brainer to me.
I love Real Emotional Trash. I put it just a notch below Pig Lib. I *like* all those long guitar solos.
Yeah, I think the self-titled is easily his worst solo effort. It's a little too cute and quirky for me, even by Malkmus' standards. I've thoroughly enjoyed his turn as "amateur prog-rock guitar god."
Those rankings are pretty spot-on.
@ElDan - The name of Oliveri's band is Mondo Generator.
