I was actually more annoyed by the audience's deliberate groan over the waiter joke. Jesus, guys. Do you think DeNiro actually even wrote that joke?

RDJ's reaction was so pompous I honestly couldn't tell if he was seriously bothered by Gervais or not. Guess so.
I remember seeing a copy of it in the video store when I was a kid and wondering what it was. Then I looked it up years later and saw it was basically a crappy candid camera movie.
Seth Rogen's mean-spiritedness?
Am I alone in detecting a bit of hyper-sensitivity from AV Club reviews lately?
Well, that's strange. Maybe I won't regret paying $30 for a vinyl import last year after all.
I think Ipecac is doing the vinyl re-release.
Speaking of TV networks losing their cred…
Has anyone seen what's become of IFC lately? What was once a channel for indie film is apparently trying to re-package itself into some "indie" version of Comedy Central. As much as I like Mr. Show and Freaks & Geeks, it kind of worries me that IFC is moving so far away from…
Rant in E-Minor definitely becomes a bit much after while. Lots of great bits, but the endless anger and misanthropy gets tiresome for me. Plus, like Arizona Bay, there's the awkward inclusion of Bill's music.
The Louis CK episode is great. It's pretty moving.
I count five, but his popularity never really recovered after Jersey Girl (although I personally enjoy Clerks II). He was apparently really devastated that Zach & Miri didn't do Apatow business, which I think is why he wound up directing a movie he didn't write with Cop Out. I think he's in a weird place. He has a…
On a recent SModcast, Kevin talked about how he's burned out on making movies and is thinking about taking a hiatus after Red State gets released and focusing more on podcasts.

Anyone ever listen to Battleship Pretension?
It's a movie podcast that I started checking out last week. I've listened to six or so episodes, and I'm still trying to decide if I like it enough to keep it as a subscription. The topics are usually interesting, but the hosts do a little too much off-topic rambling, which…
That's exactly what wore me out on Tell 'Em Steve-Dave. Too much inside stuff. That's actually what eventually turned me off of XM shows like Ron & Fez and Opie & Anthony. A little bit of behind the scenes stuff can be interesting, but when it becomes the entire show, it's unbearable.
Yeah, Marc came off like a passive-aggressive tool in the Dane Cook interview. I actually just listened to an episode of Comedy Film Nerd with Maron as a guest, and he actually admitted that he later felt like he was too hard on Dane.
Ooops. As I was saying…
I gave Jordan, J
The interviews are definitely the reason to listen to WTF. Maron's introductions can be good, but a lot of the time, he veers too far into the in-love-with-my-own-problems schtick for my taste.
I still listen to SModcast, but I think it's gotten a lot weaker over the past year or so, probably mostly due to Kevin's recent pothead lifestyle. He just isn't as sharp as he used to be. Plus, it's annoying that I now have to fast-forward through the first 10 minutes of every episode to get past all the ads for…
