The real interesting thing will be who they've got drumming. I have a hard time imagining Bob hiring Kevin Fennell for the job.

I would TOTALLY be there if I lived remotely close to Vegas. I wonder if GBV will do anymore dates. I never got to see them when they were together, but I did see Bob in Atlanta two years ago with Boston Spaceships.
Yep! I was at that show!
I thought Bender's Big Score was pretty bad. I remember at one point near the end thinking, "Gee, Fry is crying uncontrollably AGAIN?" The TV show was able to handle dramatic elements in a surprisingly tasteful manner (I'm thinking the infamous "Jurassic Bark" episode here), but the movie felt like sentimental,…
It may not be a masterpiece
But it's definitely the strongest album they've done since Oh No! It's Devo! There really is no forgiving the "Don't tase me, bro" line though.
I tried listening to their Dark Side and wound up turning it off halfway into it. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for it.
Covering Miles Davis?
Nomeansno did a pretty interesting cover of "Bitches Brew" with added lyrics.
Nah, I apparently like Nude With Boots more than most Melvins fans. I still haven't mustered up the courage to listen to Chicken Switch though.
Hmmm
Too bad Gary doesn't live in Atlanta. Oh well, I'm still excited about seeing them in September.
Yeah, on the Slow Century DVD, they make it pretty clear that Gary was pretty crazy. Bob Nastanovich mentions how he bought a shotgun and kept it on the tour bus.
Actually, I do think it's probably their weakest album since the 90s. It's still good, but it sounds a bit half-baked to me. I'm actually seeing these guys live tonight.
Hostile Ambient Takeover is a really good representation of their rock side and their weird side. I love it.
Yeah, reading about how the Loudness War has taken a role in the remastering of old albums has greatly diminished my temptation to re-buy old albums when they get re-released. I'll make exceptions in cases where enough interesting bonus tracks are added (i.e., the Pavement re-issues), but it seems like "remastering"…
I've heard it suffers from Loudness War-induced dynamic squashing. I considered buying it, but I think I'm happy enough with my old vinyl and the '94 remaster. I just went to Target and bought their exclusive rarities-only disc.
I wish I could be cooler and say Beggar's Banquet or Let It Bleed, but Sticky Fingers is just too perfect.
Not so much a "scene," but the whole segment with the cat in Allegro Non Troppo is one of the most heartbreaking pieces of animation I've ever seen.
Shame about the music on Daria.
MTV shows really aren't transferring well to DVD due to music rights. It saddens me that there will probably never be a definitive Beavis & Butthead set will all the videos intact.
I usually enjoy Vos when he's on Opie & Anthony. His stupidity makes everyone else in the studio funnier.
I actually got burned out on Futurama when it was still on Adult Swim. I didn't particularly care for the movies, so I'm not super excited about new episodes.
Men with speech impediments don't get TV shows.
