Bonuses based on metacrtic averages is a shit system for sure, but that’s 100% on the publishers or the executives making that call.
A critic can’t be expected to sit there and think, ‘Developer Bob might not get that trip to Disneyland he promised his kids if I don’t score this game a 9.5!’
