I had a disdain for money and super wealth and unfair wealth distribution my whole life. I did not want to be in the billionaire club. As strange as it sounds, I felt that such could corrupt me. You have no idea how strong my ethics are in that way. I don't mind some wealth for my success but want to deal with normal

Setting us up for a movie like Blair Witch Project?

[joke alert] Tim Cook may have wanted to view Jennifer Lawrence and others but didn't have the time to do the dirty work himself.

They have more than just those digits in the repeating sequence! I've worked on it for years. The -4444 number belonged to a local tow company and I'd call them about once a year asking how many trucks they had and how much they liked their number. Then one time it was available so I grabbed it.

The iPod Touch is 6.1 mm thick. That's what I was hoping for.

Bill Atkinson of Apple was color blind. I found this out in later years when a photographer in Los Gatos shooting my family told me that Bill had worked for him. Bill is now an accomplished nature photographer and had a lot to do with getting colors correct on printers. He also worked on 3 monochrome projects at

The most boring number in my life is how my phone number, 888-8888, looks in a Hollerith representation on my name card. It was a cool idea to put my number into punched card form on my name card but it doesn't look like real punched cards with random hole patterns.

That happens to us regularly. When we drive to Ruth's Chris Steak House in San Francisco, our [Tesla, using Google Maps] navigation system indicates that the destination is on the RIGHT. But it's only on the right after making a u-turn, which is part of the navigation instructions. It kind of threw us the first time

I'm in Colombia now and my VPN is not working today. The FLIR One order page is not accessible outside of the U.S. so +1 the cool factor.

Back when San Jose had 7-digit dialing, one of my cell phone numbers was the same as Gateway's if you left off the 1 before the area code 888. I did not know this, as I didn't use that phone, but when I leant the phone to a friend at Apple, he kept getting calls for Gateway. They would ask "is this Gateway?" and Alex

Dramatic change in last couple of years...more big hotels now fast...even same hotels that used to be very slow. They have learned from the heavy use you refer to.

Thanks! I'll check it out in my travels as well...

Now playing

This one is of San Francisco, taken by my friend Jeff Cable.

I travel a ton to different hotels every time. Up until a year or two ago, almost every hotel wifi or ethernet sucked, like my home bandwidth. Typically I'd see 50kbps - 300 kbps. And the reliability was horrible. It was not a joke that the difference between a Four Seasons (any first class 5-star hotel) and a Super 8

Would have been better showing me flying the quadcopter for the first time. I'd read the manual thoroughly, and even practiced controls a little in my head so it went pretty well. My own DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ is waiting to be exercised later tonight. I like drone videos very much but this one was pretty weak.

One reason that Buzz is a hero of mine. It makes you stop assuming that everyone who gets arrested for assault is really guilty.

until the end of this year...then it's all connected

The 1984 ad wasn't against IBM or other manufacturers, per se. It was against customers who follow blindly as much as anything. Apple is now in a post-PC era. Our computers have moved to the data centers and our mobile devices, and even home computers, just display the analysis of big data that comes off huge storage

I mean AVOID being nabbed.
