Guanacaste has a large American ex pat community. When you visit make sure you go there. You can talk to people about the pros and cons of moving there.

That may have been true where you got married but I don’t think it’s necessarily true for the entire country overall. Further, there are several parts of the country that almost have more American ex-pats than actual Ticos so it’s fairly easy to live there without speaking Spanish.
The only way this works is if those that elected him are continuously telling him what they want out of his time in office. He is only a failure if he does not listen to them.
That is exactly true and to say otherwise is the complete denial of reality.
I was reading the thread, he was getting savaged by most. Fun afternoon reading.
You nailed it.
One of the worst, probably the worst, thing about rap running over everything in its wake is that there are now legions of racist trash who consider themselves serious fans. You don’t have to be black to make or appreciate rap, but it is unequivocally black music. I’ve read that it’s a big issue in the Euro rap scene…
Agreed - it was a typically long-winded Billy article, but one I actually read all the way through. Sadly he’s right about this type of shit normalizing usage of the word. I tried to have a conversation about this in the comments the other day, about white ppl using the word at concerts particularly. That shit blows…
Why do white people want to say that word so bad? I’m black, and when I hear my friends from other cultures refer to each other as [insert racial slur of choice here] I have never thought to myself, “Oh, well they said it so I guess I’ll just go around saying it now then”.
I’m still stunned at the takes I’ve read re: this on Deadspin. A shocking (I guess I shouldn’t be shocked) number of people saying it’s fine to sing ‘nigga’ or ‘nigger’, if it so happens to be in some song they listen to. It’s almost as if many have been looking for and finally found a ‘workaround’ to be able to say…
My favourite bit was the out of nowhere Donald Glover slam. That was a Shawn Michaels superkicking Marty Janetty through the window blogging moment.
“intended for a 17-minute display, discharged prematurely”
Just to warn you, without proper context your comment comes across like your making excuses for shitty behavior. It’s like if someone saw you call your girlfriend babe and then they walked up and did it, then said to you, “Don’tr call her babe if you don’t want others to call her that.” People know what they’re doing…
What you’re asking for is unrealistic. We can’t just “stop caring” about it because people are still terrorizing others with it. It still has power and a lot of black people don’t have the privilege of just closing their ears and hoping the word goes away. It doesn’t matter if you personally think the word is…
I’m black too, and all you’ve basically shown is you’re more or less in the sunken place. The point is why would you even WANT to say a word with such a terrible history. Words matter dude. You can’t go around screaming “fire” in a crowded theater or some dumb shit like that. Words are never “just words.” And the…
Is it? What does it say about this guy that he rapped the n-word despite it not being present in the original song? At best, it means he’s really bad at deciphering song lyrics. At worst... well, you see the problem. The article isn’t saying Ninja is a bad person (it even goes out of its way to not say that), but it’s…
You don’t get to decide these things, ignorant person bordering on uncle tom territory.
He’s ‘untouchable’ right up until the point he goes to jail for kiddie porn because he couldn’t even finish his GED to soften the charges. I’m sure he’s a wonderful parent...
Da fuq is wrong with ‘kids’ these days.
Didn’t Cassanova say something about him being a Blood, also?
