Maybe I misread the article, but this is referring to police escorts for team buses to the stadium, not the actual security detail at the stadium, right? How is that a public safety issue? Isn’t that a “NFL players get special traffic rules” issue?

Thanks for being so civil internet tough kid. Police escorts for sports teams are a COURTESY and paid for by the team. There no law that requires them. If they don’t like their views they sure as shit can not take the money and not provide the escort.

And that’s my contention. This isn’t a part of their “official duties” and they can say no if they want to. An officer couldn’t say no to protecting a person being beaten by their spouse for any reason, they can say no to providing an escort to an NFL football for whatever reason they choose. How can this be wrong?

Yes, please find a comic strip to explain how Broward County police officers not wanting to pick up extra work by escorting the Dolphins is somehow a breach of constitutional rights or in any way implies such.

The police are in no way obligated to provide an escort for the Dolphins and if they feel disrespected by the people they are working in their off hours for, they have every right not to do it any more.

“By denying someone, or telling someone they’re wrong, is you turning your back to the constitution, not the protester.”
