This is the kind of stupidity we should still have the stocks for. They should put them right next to the bull by Bowling Green so tourists can take pictures with the town idiots.

Can someone fill me in here? I’m a little confused. There are actually people out there who think of themselves as Men’s Rights Activists? I thought that was a term used by people who aren’t complete asshats to refer to men who act like complete asshats?

930. At least not unless it were someone with experience, who knows how to handle one.

Whether it does a ton more or not is irrelevant. It’s marketed to people and bought by people for gaming. And I’ll believe that one can build a Steam machine that outperforms a console for $400 when I see it.

Sweet. So...buy Carrera S...get ECU tune and turn up boost...disable traction control...modern widowmaker...win!...snap oversteer...leave this world with big fat smile on face.

ARMA 3 (and its mods). Struggles to 30fps on medium settings. The only way I got it running smoothly made it so that I actually couldn't see enemies killing me from certain distances away. The game is unplayable on the settings at which it runs smoothly. Even Day Z/Arma 2 can't hit full settings.

How so? My PC has a faster processor, more memory, and a better graphics card than the base system in that article (the one in my reply to you, not this lifehacker build) and it can’t run some games that came out 2 years ago.

It very well may be “ as powerful” for the same price (actually $100 more than consoles), but it doesn’t outperform like they say it does.

I never said that this guide went wrong anywhere. This is a great guide. I said that the Steam machines in general are being falsely advertised as delivering the PC experience for console price, and that’s false.

Spot on. And thank you for actually grasping what I was getting at with my comment rather than taking it as PC bashing. If I were able to game more than I do (I’m more than a casual gamer, but not hardcore by any means), and had the funds to do so, I’d absolutely build a sweet PC gaming rig. I know something like that

I never said $1000 PC build wouldn’t be more powerful than a console, of course it would. What I said was that the cheapest Steam machine ($450, $100 more than PS4 and XB1) won’t outperform either console. But the way the Steam machines have been advertised and talked about make it seem like it would. They make it a

I don’t hate PC gaming. If the cost of a PC for gaming is worth it to you, that’s great. This isn’t about PC versus console. My gripe with these Steam machines is the false way they’re being marketed. In the news and ads I saw about them, they said you’re getting the PC gaming experience (which they make it seem is

That’s not the point I’m making. PC being worth it is irrelevant. The way these Steam machines are being marketed, at least from what I was shown, was that you get a better performing machine for the price of a console. That simply is not true. I agree that to some people it may be worth it to spend double or 3x what

What backlash? There shouldn’t be any because it’s not a question of whether or not PC is superior to consoles. Sure, if you build a $4000 gaming rig, it’s gonna perform better than a console. But the people marketing these Steam machines made it sound like you could spend what you’d spend on a console and get to play

When I read about the Steam machines, they went on about “delivering the PC gaming experience with the convenience and price point of a console.” That is pure nonsense. The cheapest Steam machine is $450 which has lesser components than my 4 year old $800 PC that barely plays modern games, let alone gets them looking

Is the new turbo Carrera S still RWD? If it is, then I see no problem here. I’d actually choose that over the 911 Turbo if I were buying one.

Came here to say exactly this. What a letdown we got from the last concept. Subaru is a bunch of bitchasses.

Lime Rock edition M3. A bunch more money for a color that, frankly, looks like shit on the M3.
