We use a land line for this stuff. the phones plugged in are old and do not need replaced or new batteries that often.

I would love to try one of the large capacity 2 stage electric snow blowers. I managed to get through our 80in 8th snowiest winters with a 20 in 2 stage single forward speed snow blower but the current electric 2 stage ones are thousands of dollars. Single stage snow blowers are useless in MN. 

Or just use the ethanol free non-oxygenated gas designed for older or small engines, motorcycles, and lawn equipment and add fuel stabilizer to it.
