Yeah, but they still had the strength of the 1989-94 movies to go on. And they exploited the shit out of them with all of those direct-to-video sequels. And Pixar, far from being fully formed, was in full gear by that point: Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles. All 1999-2004.

It’s still one day after audiences in the UK get to see it, though, so we’ll still be a bit behind.

Wasn’t it retconned so that the Phoenix Force actually made like a clone body of Jean Grey for itself, and so the Dark Phoenix Jean Grey was just the Phoenix Force in that replicated body while the original Jean Grey was kept comatose in the ocean where their space shuttle crash landed when the Phoenix Force first

My quilts just end up bloody socks

There’s one guy, one, at WEEI who defends him: Gerry Callahan. Gerry Callahan would shove Alex Reimer in an oven after gassing him in order to get better ratings.

I was thinking the same thing last night. Or do what Milwaukee did and start a righty, then after one batter switch to a lefty, just to see if Roberts will scramble to try and pinch hit for everyone.

The Sox should throw Eduardo Rodriguez on the bump for one of the LA games just to see if Roberts will self-own again.

chicken and beer was 2011; the 2004 team liked Jack Daniels and hair

I’m a Boston-born new Yorker who has supported the Mets since 2009, and I’ve come here to defend my hometown against this “blowing” charge.

Boston is a professional sports town. It has been a pro sports town since the 1960s. It doesn’t care about the four NCAA hockey teams. It doesn’t care about Boston College

The best thing about this series is going to be late in the championship-clinching game when the Sox fans start chanting “Yankees Suck”.

I totally get the anti-Boston sports team bias.

I’ll root for almost anything over Chase Utley getting another ring. I don’t care if he’s on the postseason roster or not.

I bet he wanted $75 million.

Fully admit that I’m a homer, but I can’t see calling it icky that good things happen to the Red Sox (players). The fanbase, sure, we don’t deserve an actually fun team that enjoys anything, but the players? Watching the skill these players have and the amount they genuinely seem to enjoy the game is good for

Great defense bailed out Kimbrel. Mookie’s throw in the top of the 8th to nail the leadoff hitter at 2nd base was huge and Benintendi with that giant balls catch to end it. Clutch plays from clutch players.

I’m actually kinda surprised they didn’t go out before the playoffs and trade Yasmani for the entire Red Sox organization while they were at it.

I absolutely would watch a Watchmen prequel that showed the old heroes in their heyday.

If Neville Chamberlain wasn’t his father we’d have never heard of little Wilt.

The Yankees know you can only give 100% effort, so there's no point winning more than 100 games. That's just science.

When Miguel Cabrera was still (technically) capable of playing third, he bent over to pick up a grounder and a fan near me shouted “don’t split your pants, fatass!” Miggy looked over, pointed at the guy, and smiled.
