you make some good points, but there is a precedent for hiring writers straight out of Harvard for big things.  A lot of Harvard Lampoon grades have gone straight to writing shows like Seinfeld, The Simpsons, SNL, and other stuff.  That WAS a while ago, but it’s been done.
