"WHAT DO YOU MEAN STAINS. THE STAINS ARE ON MY UNDERWEAR?"

Would give anything for a Larson-Ronan Best Actress tie. Their adorable, friendly Oscar campaigning has even fueled this hypothetical scenario in my imagination.

"What eees your best puhriice?"
"Well, it—"
"NO THANK YOU"

Shallows is such a lush and lovely song. The dreamy guitar at the end wrecks me every time.

Got to see this at TIFF last year. Definitely a bit overhyped, but I went in with the bar CRAZY high after the Sundance reviews.

Listened to Daughter's new album "Not to Disappear" this week. Was a huge fan of their demos and first album, which had a kind of Explosions in the Sky guitar riff backing beautiful poetic lyrics, and Florence Welch-y vocals.

Movies
- Carol: Finally got this here in Toronto. Who knew it would end up being such an overt Christmas movie? Loved it. I was going into it with an eye for the technical aspects as that's what I'd heard the most buzz about, and was not disappointed. Beautifully shot. Blanchette was fantastic — some of those almost

I wasn't too shocked to see the blatant Linklater homage. Aziz has tweeted in the past that those are his favourite movies, so I'm guessing he saw an opportunity to do something in that style and ran with it. As a total sucker for the Before… trilogy and having just returned from a Nashville trip, I totally ate it all

Saw The Witch last night at TIFF. Genuinely creepy, disturbing horror film. The kind that doesn't have any jump scares at all but kept me up all night thinking about it. Excellent score and sound design.

I got to see this at the TIFF premiere on Friday night. I still can't get over how beautiful the cinematography was. Some shots have been stuck in my mind for days.

I went recently and was told that 313 has amazing Detroit style pizza. I didn't know that Detroit had a specific style of pizza, or that it was something I needed in my life, but it was fantastic.

Checked out The Tallest Man on Earth in Toronto on Friday. Didn't expect it to be as energetic and fun a show as it was. He's a great performer, and his songs really alternate between getting your toes tapping and like…ripping your heart out.

I'm sure there are some Room quotes tucked away in here somewhere, but so much of Tommy Wiseau's jumbled garbage dialogue has made its way into my every day life. Anytime I propose getting food with friends it's always "let's go eat hannnnnh".

I kept hearing references to Loretta Lynn when reading reviews of Kacey Musgraves' new album (which deserves all the praise it received). Then on a recent trip to Austin I heard a lot of that older, twangy, steel-guitar type country music, and it made me dig around a bit. I've started with Loretta Lynn but am eager to

She also quit music altogether. Recently opened up a coffee shop outside of Ottawa called Quitters Coffee. I think she plays the occasional small gig there, but sounds like things went pretty south (romantically and career-wise). That is a great album/song though!
