I just want to say, good on you for trying to fight the good fight here at Jez. You have a lot of patience for this, and I guess someone had too. Jez is full of "I don't see color/I only care about white women feminists" so, maybe you've helped someone see something. I would hope, but it's mostly a losing battle at

I think Blanchett's default when she thanks a writer for writing a role she wins awards for is Cate Blanchett.

Of course if he did write for women of color Jezebel and its commenters would be bitching that the roles were inauthentic.

Isn't Penelope Cruz Spanish? Like, from Spain not from Latin America? That would make her European, right? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Even the thanks for writing roles for women was lacking, in that Allen has written films for years that have taken place in New York - with nary a woman of colour in a substantial role. Just say "He writes great roles for white women: anytime a director works exclusively with another race, it is always noted.

It didn't bother me that people sniggered behind my back because of my name - yay confidence! - but it did bother me when folks who couldn't pronounce my name or found another reason to treat me disrespectfully because my parents were so desperate to give me a name that no one else had.

I'm not surprised Chaka Khan did an eye-roll being compared to anyone. After all, she's already Every Woman, and has been for decades.

Chaka Kahn can do NO wrong..

I'll admit it: I want to see video of Lupita meeting Alek so I can bawl at the sight of my two beautiful sisters sharing a moment.

I had the opposite reaction. It feel natural and not sexy, which makes it hot for me.

Lupita, Locker lad, Lama, & Longoria link limbs & leer.

That is, unfortunately, a common opinion many people outside the medical field share about pain management. Even many people in the medical field have cynical and naive outlooks on pain management, with little real understanding.

Who is 'everyone?'

Oh gawd. Can we keep Hilton classified forever under 'distasteful orange ghoul'? As a white gay guy who at least tries to keep an eye on his privilege and unwanted-but-lurking-in-the-inherited-white-subconscious casual racism/sexism, I want to be taxonomically as far removed from him as possible.

Because gay white men are still white men.

My prayers are with Miles O Brien.

I hate to generalize, but that certain type of gay white guy is usually a terrible misogynist too. They basically don't care about anyone who's not also a gay white guy.
