I don’t believe there should be a fix. If the owners truly want to be clean (which is the whole reason they got bought into the “clean diesel” idea in the first place) then I would just give up my car and give me money towards a new one. VW should just destroy all the affected cars and be done with it.

My 2015 Golf TDI S Manual has been the best car I have ever owned. I’ve hit over 60mpg averages on flat long highways and it drives, rides and handles great. There is a reason it was “Car of the year in 2015". Now VW wants to give me cash and buy it back, it’s going to be hard to do as there is nothing else on the

The only true “fix” is buying back every car, because no fix for the car exists.

Go back and read the entire article again. The (up to) $7k is on top of a buyback.

You’re misunderstanding...they will give you money and fix your car, even if you don’t opt for a buyback.

I seem to remember the bar for ‘Ultimate German Bad Guy’ was set pretty high back in the 1940's...

Prius? AN EFFING PRIUS? That’s like replacing a fine bass boat with a washing machine. Both depend on water, but that’s about it. NO Thanks for recommending a soulless transport module to someone who has a car that’s fun to drive.

Well you recommended that Jetta owners should trade in their Jetta for a fancier (used!) Jetta so clearly yes.

This saga will be taught in business school like Midway Battle in military. VW did wrong by following the iron will of the Patriarch, was in state of denial for more than a year and finally did not recognize the imperative to keep their compensation money witin VAG by an early buy back decision.

This is the only answer to numb the pain for VW owners. Like, literally numb the pain. #vehicularnovacaine

No pointers for the A3 TDI owners, Tom?

I cannot fathom a Golf owner holding their nose as they sign on the line for that monstrosity Toyota is shilling.

No Jetta TDI owner with an ounce of self-respect would ever be buy one. I’ll take the repair first.

Somewhere a bearded man is yelling at his friends, “THAT 230K MILE TDI... NOT SUCH A BAD INVESTMENT NOW!!!”
