That pop up screen has always been a poor design. The kind of thing that looks like it will fail opening or closing at some point.

I bought a 74 914 for $3,500 with the original fi 2.0 as a fun car right out of college. I drove it for 8 years and it had minimal ownership costs. I sold it for $5k and was happy I didn’t lose money. The 914’s got no respect at the Porsche club meetings or on DE days.
