This actually seems pretty plausible. I didn’t even think of that.

You certainly are. I abandoned Mario Kart 8’s Battle Mode shortly after launch, and have visited it extremely infrequently since then. I feel like arenas from earlier entries that play more with verticality are more my kind of thing. Before two commenters here shared their opinions, you were the only person I’d ever…
No way, Kart 64 easily had the best Battle Mode. Mario Kart 8 is far from being the easiest. The tracks are just too big. Modes don’t get universally panned because they’re good.
No. I can’t agree with this at all. A lot of these are just general tactics. Pull a U-turn, hit the brakes, etc.
There’s not enough explanation here. The widgets have been modified. I tried modifying the values myself to match what’s shown here but Ubersicht shits the bed every time I try. Not really sure what’s going wrong.
Submerged is a really cool, unique game. We ran a review of it over on TAY this morning, check it out if you’re interested!
If you’re interested in a second opinion, I also ran a review of Rare Replay on TAY, check it out here.
Maybe I’m crazy, but I’ve never thought Tony Hawk games were particularly pretty. I remember EGM (I think) marveling at characters having discernible digits as opposed to PS1-era claw-hands. This was when games had already been doing that for a while now.
That... makes a surprising amount of sense.
This one’s for Jason. What’s the best tip you can give someone looking to get an informant inside a big publisher?
Do you plan to have a new logo for this IRL blog? It was a little confusing trying to navigate back to the main page.
The demo definitely was a snooze-fest. But hey at least we learned someone in the audience knew Important Things about the lore.
Great idea, Dyram. Love this.
I did too. At the show. Nach made fun of me for it but SHENMUE 3!!
Something to note—Ryu’s V-skill, which is his parry, is actually brought over from his Omega variant in Ultra Street Fighter IV. It seems to be executed the same way (I haven’t played SFV, yet) and definitely behaves the same way.
I look forward to these articles every year. I can’t wait to see what the big three have planned for this year!
Which is hilarious, because I’d buy the shit out of some He-Man toys to go with a game like this. I’m hoping for Thundercats though.
Hey Patrick,
