Your comment is dumb as hell.

It’s the same rules as yelling BASE playing freeze tag on the playground.

The reason I would care is because if a car doesn’t realize the cop car and your car are hanging into the right lane, they are going to likely rear end the cop car directly into your car and cause damage at a minimum and whiplash related injuries at the other end.

Seems like internalized racism to me, doesn’t it? OP concludes that because they are so terrified of cops they pull over immediately, then it follows that everyone should.

Also, in case people need to remember, driving a taxi is more fucking deadly than being a cop and no one thanks taxi drivers for their service and worships them as heroes.

Yep and that’s what’s so horrifying about all this to me: the internet has removed borders from our world such that pockets of crazy assholes can find each other and spread their gospel of nonsense around the world.

This is accurate. Studies have found over and over again that a perceived lower threat of getting a ticket means people will speed more. No shit, this is all of us Jalops who probably factor the likelihood of a cop being around when we decide to do some enthusiastic driving. I’m not gonna drive spiritedly on a road

Honestly after nothing but manual for 15 years, and having had a properly tuned DSG gearbox for 1.5 years now...I do not understand the “only a clutch pedal and stick are engaging to drive” argument. Not one bit. I can pick whatever gear I want, whenever I want, and I have it in a fraction of a second. Oh sure, I

Must be your state. Even 93 octane was under $3 here until mid-winter.

It’s insane it pays that low for a job requiring so much experience and with so much responsibility and liability. Like a starting wage at Costco to pack up shopping carts in the checkout lines is $31,000 ($15/hr) and you can do that with zero experience at age 18.

hits blunt

I don’t abuse my car because I got the ECU flashed to a more performance oriented tune as opposed to stock that prioritizes smoothness and fuel economy.

Also, this is what getting one under warranty is for. Get a new one, or a preowned one from Carmax or a VW dealer with warranty coverage and just enjoy it.

I have an A3, which is like sticking the Haldex AWD onto a GTI. Tuned it stage 1 up to about 315 HP/375 lb-ft of torque, swapped in a fatter rear sway bar, and tuned the DSG control unit for faster shifts and 100% manual control.

I don’t get the appeal of “range” when stopping at a gas station takes all of 5 minutes and the vast majority of people only drive their car more than 300ish miles in one sitting maybe a couple times per year.

In the 10 years since I left college, I’ve only lived in one place for 2 years where it would have been feasible to own an EV (it had a one car garage). This is all in urban areas. Otherwise the apartments and homes I’ve lived in were all with street parking or big parking garages without EV ports for every spot in

I also feel like if you fuck up bad enough your sedan is off the side of a road in a ditch, it’s gonna be irrelevant whether or not you have a tow hook because the tow truck coming can just pull the car out from hooking onto hook points underneath the car, anyway.

I feel like dealing with 325 lb-ft of torque going instantly to only two wheels would be annoying in wet weather, wouldn’t it? I’d much rather have AWD for this kind of vehicle.

Maybe I’m wrong, but instant torque and 400 lb-ft going to only two wheels immediately seems like it’d be really annoying to drive smoothly, especially if in rain or snow.

Bro if you want to gamble your life and health on saving a couple grand on a new car, you go right ahead and do that. I’m skeptical you would if actually given the choice.
