I’d also want to know more about how often and when that DSG fluid was changed to make sure it isn’t a neglected unit with beat up clutches already. That would be an expensive fix if it has hidden wear and tear.

Yep, I moved from 15 years of stick to modern (2015) DSG last year and to be honest, for a daily driver, I don’t miss the clutch pedal at all other than the handful of times a year I have the car out in a place like the mountains where nailing rev matched downshifts is what’s up.
This driver should be forced to drive a 1995 Geo Metro for the next 10 years after this display of incompetence.
Gonna mostly disagree, even as a non-Musk-fanboy.
Ahhh yes, saving money by buying a $60k-110k car.
Friend is flying these. His helmet costs $500,000.
To quote right wing talking points, it sounds like these people need to find a job.
Pretty much all states - get a couple minutes past the last suburban interstate exit, and it’s all Trump/Rona Country.
You need to get a Two-Face esque face prosthetic, so you can pull off the mask and reveal what appears to be a grotesque, burned through to the teeth face behind it. THIS IS WHY I WEAR IT
RN here. After 40 hours a week for 8 months of it, no, I really don’t notice it much.
In Alberta, where it’s way too cold for salt to be effective, they put sand down everywhere.
After all, nobody wants to be driving a crappy old car
Yep. Can't stand torque steer in my cars. Give me AWD or RWD.
Yep I don't get why no one uses twin scroll turbos anymore, which would provide a small turbine for low RPM boost and a bigger turbine for boost higher in the rev range, to eliminate turbo lag.
And it's only accomplishing what Haldex limited slip differentials did decades ago, in terms of immediately and preemptively addressing torque bias across the rear axle. Seems like a complicated system when a LSD like an STi or S4 uses would be way better.
Actually, by this driver’s own words in interviews published 1-2 weeks ago when this came out, he said there isn’t much “driving” to do and all he was doing was keeping the wheel straight and holding the pedal to the floor after he got past about 150 MPH.
Yep. Volvos depreciate like crazy and you can find off-lease one for like 1/3-1/2 of their original MSRP. Like most luxury brands, most of the new “buyers” are leasing them and giving them back within 3 years.
I fail to see how it’s any different than any other leased vehicle right now - these aren’t rental cars. Like any other lease, they are required per the contract to be taken to the dealers for regular maintenance intervals and inspections.
I was behind a classic Mini the other week and never realized just how “mini” they actually are in person.
And I’d say $650 for a top-trim level lease of a luxury make vehicle and insurance is a pretty decent deal, if you are a person who leases instead of buys already. I’d definitely consider it if I was in that market.
