It seems the only way to fly these days, if you aren’t super rich, is to be a member of a flight club/group-own a plane to share all the maintenance and storage costs.

I don’t understand why anyone would want a dashboard covered in the stuff.

Dealerships exist solely to protect consumers from abuse by automakers. NADA has plenty of independent research to back that up.

Yeahhhh not really sure what the point of buying an 8K TV is when we aren’t going to have 8K content for another half a decade. Most streaming services aren’t even 4K yet, and TV broadcasts are still stuck at 720p/1080i. The PS5 and Xbox Series X will only be able to upscale/stretch 4k content to 8K.

That’s kinda where I am with it. Some elements are interesting, but this is starting to feel a lot like how Season 3 dragged its feet until Mr. Wrench showed up on the bus and shit really took off the last couple episodes.

God I love that meme

A couple years ago people got really upset that on either Roger Waters or David Gilmour’s tour, whichever one of them it was went on some anti-Trump rant in the show over the microphone in some show in Kansas. HURRRR WHY IS HE BEING POLITICAL STICK TO MUSIC BRO

Not to defend our insane system here, but this kind of stuff isn’t covered by government-run healthcare anywhere else, either. For example, in Canada if you suffer some kind of spinal injury, the costs of modifying your car, home, etc. and buying a power wheelchair are on you (or supplemental insurance, if you have

And I just don’t consider a stick shift shoehorned into an otherwise heavy, numb modern commuter car to be any kind of “connected” experience. Oh boy, I can row my own in a bloated blimp of a crossover or “midsize” sedan that is as large as a full size sedan was 15-20 years ago. It’s not really fun.

Yooooo fellow A3 guy here. Get that DSG TCU reflashed (I used United Motorsport’s tune) and it will make it the car you wanted to buy. The difference is astounding, especially if you have or swap in a steering wheel with paddles. The shifts are faster and much more aggressive in manual mode, and in automatic modes, it

That is also how I feel, but in the nicer newer cars you are only getting an approximation of a manual anyway.

This. Subaru and VW are neither good nor bad in reliability terms. However, they are most definitely not in the Toyota realm or anywhere close to it. There is a much greater chance of something expensive going wrong, if you own them out of warranty.

I think the main problem with buying a VW group product new is they don’t hold value - you’re taking a much bigger depreciation hit than with a Honda or Toyota, when the time comes to trade it in or sell it. VW/Audi is much, much better with reliability and maintenance than they used to be, but the depreciation factor

Some countries, and now California, already have laws on the books banning new gasoline and diesel vehicle sales by 2035, 2040, etc.

Slush boxes? It’s not 2000 anymore. The DSG, ZF 8 Speed, etc. are not “slush boxes”.

I saw Immortan Joe

And this is why Dexter would have worked as a one or two season show, but not beyond that, let alone 8+ seasons.

It’s also just too expensive. This is now a 10-11 year old car from the Ford era of Volvo, which means it’s not going to be cheap to own. The transmission is also a torque converter automatic which isn’t really going to be fun.

Imagine having that money and buying this instead of a NSX or your choice of other supercars.

Bizarrely, I got nothing but compliments on my Legacy GT. Men, women, my grandma, several people offering to trade for it at gas pumps or asking if it was for sale or what it was...I miss that car. It looked like the offspring of an Audi A4 and WRX.
