Yeah that’s not the rental car I’d be worried about being hooned - it’s too expensive of an upgrade for the average traveler looking for a rental car just to put around in for a vacation. It’s probably mostly driven by suits going to and from a hotel. I doubt they’ve been launched or redlined much. If a PPI returns

KILL IT

It’s bananas that people ever thought any of this was safe. I’m imagining toddlers getting skewered by splintered wood, or in the last picture, what looks like a folding beach chair.

Also, that doesn’t change anything about the situation. It just means that the cops and government in charge of the cops in the video are fucking morons who should be paying, not out of taxpayer funds but their own wallets, for all that damage they just caused for absolutely no reason.

What exactly about a video of cops slashing an entire parking lot of tires upset you, my precious little snowflake?

After working in neuro trauma, it blows me away that anyone who can afford better sticks their teenager into a piece of shit 20, 30, 40 year old beater. It’s basically saying “Yeah, I’m willing to gamble my child’s life if I can save a couple grand”. Driving between ages 16 and early 20s is statistically the most

Same. If a 1995 Camry XLE V6 with about the same mileage was worth $5000 when I got it in 2006 ($6358 in today’s money), there’s no way a similar vintage FWD V6 90s generic sedan is worth nearly the same money 14 whole years later.

Also Audi. All their offerings are understated, similar, and look good.

I think it looks alright with the white color paint, but it look absolutely awful with a real color around it. Just covering it up with my fingers on the screen, the rest of the design looks like it would flow better into a smaller grille up front, and I don’t see why BMW felt the need to make their traditional kidney

Right. If I’m using Tesla’s “autopilot” and I see that I’m 1/4 mile away from an overturned truck, I’m not waiting and seeing if my car happens to notice and brakes or dodges the obstacle. I’m braking manually and disengaging the autopilot immediately.

Just as a non-stupid person who is interested in preserving his life and doesn’t blindly trust a 2020 model year car to drive itself without observation, I would have been braking the exact second I came around the corner and saw a damn truck tipped over across the lane, directly in my path.

You’re gonna have a hard time finding other people who think Italian sports cars are all ugly.

Agreed. This is the proper way to sell a car - clean as hell. NP.

Yep. They just didn’t do a single thing better than another luxury competitor. I didn’t really see a big difference between an Acura sedan or SUV, and the Honda offering on the same platform in top trim level. And yes - so fucking ugly.

I thought the proper way to acquire beat up 20-30 year old cars was to just keep them all in an inoperable state in your lawn and driveway like David Tracy.

Your comment just reminded me of what my friend told me the other day - his brother is an Army officer, and one of his reports (18-19 year old Private) recently got a 72 month loan for a 2015 $15000 Jeep something or other...at 20.99% APR. Because all he cared about was the monthly payment.

It’s weird feeling nostalgic while looking at someone else’s pictures. I guess I’m thinking of my own first car deep down.
