I sort of feel like you answered your own question. It kind of reminds me of in middle school when certain kids see an opportunity to join the popular group so they diss their old friends. Jezebel has to have the new commenting system. They know the kind of troll-y comments that will be here. I can only assume the

That's not about it being cliqueish. Personally, I think I only approved a comment or two the whole time I was starred, but that's because I'm an overall distrustful person and never saw a comment that really made me go AHHH YES THAT NEEDS TO BE HERE. And that's what the approval system was all about. You did have to

But the star drama wasn't about cliques and stuff re:MizJenkins. It was the fact that she got destarred (and later banned...AGAIN) for speaking out against the racially insensitive behavior of the editors. So many great commenters got destarred because they dared to call out privilege and casual racism. I saw that

That's *why* comments aren't turned on. They knew they weren't going to turn on comments ever for the posts yesterday which is probably what gave them the galls to post some of that tripe.

Yeah, I'm confused about that to. I think that if you leave it alone you are accepting it but if you hit the X then you dismiss it. If you don't dismiss it it's automatically accepted. Really, they shouldn't mention accepting at all if that's the case and just talk about dismissal. Mentioning acceptance when there's

Well, even though now they talk about auditioning like it was a bad thing, it really did help to keep the bad people out. If you had good comments you'd be approved as a commenter and able to comment on Jezebel. Regardless of whether or not you had a star people could see your comments if you were approved. And then

And you are still amazing. People talk about cliques but honestly I never felt that way. There were plenty of popular commenters and they were popular because they deserved it. When I see your avatar I know I want to read what your comment is going to say because through experience I know you are a great commenter.

Honestly, I think the editors abused the hashtag system more than the mods did. Editors would move comments if the comments didn't agree with what the editor wrote in the post (not always, but this happened quite a bit) or if a commenter thought something was offensive. *That* is personal. Mods moving a comment

I never got that. Before I had a star people replied and interacted with me. After I got a star about the same amount of people replied and interacted with me. I don't think it was the *star* itself that made people popular. There were certain commenters who would garner a lot of attention with or without stars.

Do y'all really believe the star/grey/moving-threads thing was a bad idea? I wonder if that's just what you're saying now because you *have* to take on this new system. If anything, that system made it much easier to interact with more people. You claim discussions got lost then when in reality with this new system

The Dirtbag from the morning mentioned that KK is planning on keeping quiet on her friendship with Beyonce because she doesn't want to ruin anything. Said by an anonymous source so who knows, but I can see it being believable.

Last week I was at a redbox renting a bunch of movies and I accidentally rented a Polanski one (Carnage). I read the description but it didn't have his name there, and I rarely look to see who the director is when renting a film. When I found out it was a Polanski movie during the opening credits I felt these waves of

Your first point was my EXACT thought when I went to the linked article. The beau constantly insists she's has a little filler, but I doubt it. Her lips have always looked the same amount of full. If anything they look a tiny bit thinner now (which makes sense, that whole age thing or whatever).

I sat here cracking up for a moment remembering that role playing episode. Them continuously trying to one-up each other was the best. Lawd, I need to find that episode and re-watch it. I can't remember the drunk Roger one but I bet I have seen it.

Francine is absolutely amazing. She's my favorite of the Fox Cartoon mom's. Her and Roger's dynamic is hilarious.

I used to hate American Dad. I truly think it was just a weird phase or maybe I hated it without watching it for who knows what reason. When I finally sat down and really watched an episode last year I realized how hilarious the show is. I think it is far superior to Family Guy, and all of the other Sunday night

Michael Bay directing with Roman Polanski as the executive producer. IMAGINE

I don't think it's douchey nor really oversimplifying. I quoted him because I think he put it beautifully, but there's definitely a more concise way of getting the point across! I would agree that nakedness shouldn't make you feel that way. I think Berger (and this is just based on the one essay, I haven't read

I was kind of surprised that there wasn't any greater commentary on the slides. I kept clicking through thinking maybe the next slide will have something thoughtful, but nope. And since there was no commentary from the editor I also don't see why it's posted. We'll probably get some thoughtful commentary in the

It's relevant if the person thinks she's young. But, the fact that it's on Jez sort of answers that question seeing as how Jez wouldn't post photos of someone younger than 18. That's the only way I could see age being relevant and even that is a bit of a stretch.
