The Caribbean actually has a really intense pigmentocracy, so you're lucky to not have had to feel that kind of pressure (for example, the surge in skin bleaching in Jamaica). The history and the present of pigmentocracy in the Caribbean is absolutely fascinating, if you have the time to read up on it. People like to

I'd like to think this is a Red Fox and a Rhode Island Red. So, yay! RI is being represented all over Jez.

I have to wonder, if the school just agreed to take it down then they probably wouldn't have had to go through with the lawsuit. So, the unnecessary spending is less her fault and more theirs if that's the case.

It was a prayer banner.

and the first Baptist church! And we've got a beautiful Unitarian church here, too.

Can I just say that I am sick of hearing about this girl. I live in Providence and anytime I tried to listen to the talk radio station all I could hear about for at least a month was this girl and the injustice committed upon the school (apparently all of the talk radio hosts are Republicans and conservative

I noticed those weird link thingies, it seems like they started appearing last week or so. Silly glitches in the design, I guess. Perhaps Gawker Media hates the use of ellipses (which is ridiculous because ellipses are amazing)

It wasn't until your comment that I realized it wasn't a pantsuit..

I love that skit as well. I loved Debbie Downer. It always cracks me up when they drop character and just start cracking up. Probably one of the reasons I love Stefon so much.

That is exactly how I felt!

The Caribbean has an intense pigmentocracy, PR included. So many different names depending on skin tone, hair color, eye color, hair texture, and a combination of those things. It's really wild, and worth reading about if you're ever bored. I did a paper on pigmentocracy in Jamaica, and it was absolutely fascinating.

lol sorry, I realize that the way I state my opinions sometimes makes it seem as if I actually know what I'm talking about. I don't know the industry, but I just said that based on what I've noticed/read/and heard in various classes about people/consumers nowadays.

Chelsea said the child/sex thing, not Rosie. Rosie just said she was kind of afraid of little people.

In this day and age the people value and desire immediacy and frequency. Playing the occasional live set wouldn't allow her the same amount of stardom. She's not THAT established of a star where people won't forget her.

Obviously Romijn was exaggerating. The condescension is unnecessary. People often say "that was the worst thing ever!" or "that was the hardest thing I've done!", they don't always actually mean it.

I think the issue is that it's presented with no commentary, the little commentary that is here comes across as more sincere than snarky/sarcastic. Like the American Guy in Paris article, it wasn't until after the shitstorm that the editor made a note to say that they didn't believe in what he was saying blah blah

Jessi Klein's tweet was a ploy to get more google hits.
