Minimal my left butt cheek. I like the launcher in general, but the only time I start it is when choosing the next game I’ll play since it has the best combined interface for (most of) my games. The client itself likes to hang for some of those minutes when dealing with the large libraries it’s importing/refreshing.

This just isn’t true. Whether a game requires Steam or not is up to the game. There are many games that, after you’ve downloaded them from Steam, you can copy them off and run them anywhere. Here are some examples:

Yeah, most storefronts (e.g. Steam) aren’t officially supported so you have to use unofficial extensions and those seem to have trouble staying logged in.

It’s been a while (years?), but when I tried it I found it to be pretty unusable. It was slow, had to launch the original player anyways, and could not for the life of it remember my credentials for anything, so it was like using all the original launchers anyways except I also had to log in 70% of the time.

I don’t disagree with anything you said I was specifically talking about the concept that time passing makes it okay to spoil things. And people saying stuff like "if you haven't watched/played something by this point it's your fault" which is kinda an undertone of this article.

Galaxy is pretty slow if you have large libraries across multiple storefronts. I own thousands of games and every time I boot up Galaxy, it takes minutes just to update my library. It’s faster to simply load up each individual storefront.

I feel like that’s a little misleading — at least, I was misled at first — because Steam does not require games to have DRM, and many games don’t, even if it doesn’t have a DRM-free policy like GOG.

The onus on not being spoiled is on the one not wanting to be spoiled.

It’s entirely possible to continue to avoid spoilers for the overwhelming majority of media unless someone is being an asshole and going out of their way to spoil things in locations where a spoiler wouldn’t be expected (i.e. a spoiler about the

They were chess pieces removed from the board, Bads taken away before they could kill Goods. [He’d] been trained to “other-ize” them, trained well.”

Harry is going for the JK Rowling Award for “Tanking Your Own Reputation With Your Inability to Just Shut The Hell Up” and though 2023 has only just started, he’s coming out the gate as a strong contender for this year’s title.

It is Square Enix, who are happily still trying to push NFT’s as game features and just cancelled like 4 of their new “live service” games in a row. They don’t have a shred of self awareness about how they’re treating FF7, an anti-capitalist eco-terrorism game where their spinoffs are gleefully using “Shinra Bucks!”

Don’t you all have phones?

I suggest SE get it’s head out of it’s NFT stink hole and stop threatening PC playability.

Sure, but it’s not like Harry got his hands cut off by the monarchy, that was other people, who are not ultra rich and getting Netflix deals.

Absolutely. Harry is absolutely a perpetrator of this, but he is also a victim. Dude’s head is screwed on sideways from everything he’s gone through, but he’s also come from such a place of intense privilege that he’s continued perpetuating it as well. I think he means well, he’s just having a really difficult time

I keep reminding myself one can be a VICTIM and a PERPETRATOR.

That are the monarchy.

It sucks to see someone break away from a gaint and crappy publisher and continue the same lousy practices in their own business.

Bill Maher’s a racist douchebag that also lives in a bubble.

They’ll keep talking as long as you keep covering everything they say.
