I assume Ms. Chandler’s middle name is Ross. That’s really all I got for this story.

Yeah the “old, out of touch geezer” comment left me saying hmmm. Way to keep it professional!
That kind of stuck out to me too. Sounds like the guy is behind the times and misinformed, which is obviously a problem, but calling him an “old man” and a “geezer” in such a vitriolic way isn’t cool either.
Do fight sexism with ageism, it's such a good look.
One ill informed usher denies entry for a few minutes and this is now blown up as the great NFL gender discrimination controversy? Geez, this has long been settled. What is equally bad is the casual ageism of this Graham Watson person (‘old geezer’). But I guess that’s ok bc sexism >>>>>>>>>ageism. I really hope, down…
I still feel that it’s odd ANY reporting or interviewing goes on in a locker room, TBH.
Look, I know we all want to rush to judgment here but I’m guessing that, very reasonably, the man asked what those women were there for and they told him that they were there to cover a professional football team and he, quite rightfully, had to check if the Jaguars qualified.
Yes.
This is what happens when you don’t copy and paste that disclaimer on Facebook.
That was two years ago.
I’d like to think that if I were loaded I’d fill my friends’ homes with balloons and buy them random shit and go on awesome vacations with them. Then I remember that I never even answered a friend’s text from like three days ago so, no, I would probably suck just as much. People would just resent me more.
I have issues with pictures of snakes. When I was running everyday where I used to live I kept running into snakes which made for a great increase in heart rate I suppose. I eventually stopped screaming but even if I was half a mile from being done I’d turn around and do another 3 miles back the other way around.
I want to quickly point out that of course of this woman’s actions were irresponsible and irrational—that’s the nature of phobia, an irrational fear that is debilitating. I have nearly done this for another reason (not spiders) and it’s horrifying. I’ve been locked in rooms by my phobia. Locked out of my house for…
I’m 34 and have no problem being ma’amed either. I feel like “miss” is sort of condescending and disingenuous, whereas “ma’am” is just generically respectful.
I am not American and live in a country where we don’t use honorifics unless we’re being sarcastic. I do, however, have an American colleague and every time I knock on his office door or his classroom, he turns and says “yes, ma’am?”. I fucking love it! I feel so fancy!
I’m at that weird age where “ma’am” seems too old and formal, but “miss” is just ridiculous.
I understand that some people take ma’am-ing to mean that they are considered old... but usually when I get ma’am-ed it’s because I am the person’s superior in some capacity, so I think it feels pretty badass.
