Average sale price of an F150 is between $55k and $60k

The Buick really does stop here

Correct. Especially if CARB and EPA standards aren’t harmonized - because that would mean that compliance with a stricter standard isn’t necessarily equal to compliance with a more lenient standard.

Maybe that person is just driving a Camry (I’m a Camry owner myself)

My first car was a 2012 Subaru Impreza (not WRX or STI). Got tired with the whiny CVT and underpowered engine. Managed to sell it off after 3 years to a first-time driver.

I can see where Tesla’s coming from. Consumers would rather buy cars that run on dinosaur shit than an electric car that annoys the hell out of you.

Toyota Camry. Honda Accord. No harm in putting 93 octane, but I’m pretty sure my Camry won’t perform better with 93 octane.

Seems to me like MBA-types call all the shots at BMW. Nothing wrong with trying to fill a market niche, but the sheer number of variants is mind-boggling, and kinda hard to explain (4-door Gran Coupe? Seriously?).

So you’re saying these cars were literally Imported from Detroit?

I want to know how it stacks up against an AWD Kia Stinger with the active safety package. The Kia is only about $1600 more, but gains AWD but with a slightly less powerful engine.

EPA tests for city, highway and high speed driving are also done with air conditioning *off*. Another reason why real world driving gives lower fuel economy.

Also, I wonder how many manufacturers put their turbo engines through the EPA Supplementary Federal Test Procedure (US06), which has speeds up to 80 mph. That gives a better picture of real-world fuel economy.

You’re right. EPA cycle tops out at around 56 mph, but normal speeds on metro Detroit highway is more like 75-80 mph.

Pretty radical move. In metro Detroit auto companies, almost all foreign-born workers are contractors.

In India, taxes on fuel are quite high. No matter what the international trends are for crude, the fuel price almost never reduces, as the government sees it as an easy way to make money.

Digital Federal Credit Union is a good lender for those working in US on a work visa and with limited credit history. (I don’t work for them, I don’t benefit in any way by writing this comment, just a satisfied customer)

Possibly there are other bottlenecks - like battery production rates. Just a guess.

“Elon Musk takes Charge of Model 3 production”. No pun intended

Does Cadillac have the reliability issues which plague its German counterparts? A colleague here at Ford tells me that the quality gap between American and Asian sedans is quite small these days.
