I bet you didn't fully appreciate how masterful those Patton Oswalt tweets were, either.

Women who post pictures of their breakfast on Instagram with life-affirming quotes about not listening to the haters?

Yup, me too. Little salt on there. Simple pleasures. My Filipino friends tell me that in their culture it's traditional to eat avocado with sugar, which is basically what I'd expect from the people who invented banana ketchup.

That's so baffling. The sole appeal of avocado toast versus pretty much any other way to use an avocado is that it's a filling breakfast or snack you can make with virtually no effort. Dressing that up is like dressing up a Hot Pocket.

MAN IN GIANT AVOCADO COSTUME skulks away quietly

Right in the, uh, aguacates.

I've been saying this to people for years and I always get slapped.

A ripe avocado should not be mushy in texture, but buttery, and it should have a mild, rich, somewhat grassy flavor. It's more of a companion to other flavors than the primary flavor in a dish, but a good avocado can be eaten straight out of the peel with a bit of salt.

Well, there was the time the head writer for this site became a Juggalo. But I think we're all happier forgetting that.

Honestly, neither of those are as gross to me.

Yeah, and my recollection is that it was well-received at the time and is generally considered the one good post-Fugees album by anyone not named Lauryn Hill. That album and P-Funk were kind of my gateway into liking hip hop from a very white middle-class milieu where "everything but rap and country" was the common

I think they basically look like those characters would in Bob's Burgers. In the Archer episode where we see Linda and the kids, they all look much less grotesque and doofy. Even attractive characters look ugly on Bob's Burgers.

And this was the day we all realized @avclub-97815cb302c2a984aac3af1ee8f68e8d:disqus was Steve Bannon.

That's Monaco, an older Mac monospace typeface. It's unusual in that it uses a single-story lowercase 'a', which is a quality it shares with Comic Sans. It also has a weird lowercase 'g' that is kind of almond-shaped. I like it, though I pretty much like all of Susan Kare's typefaces.

Of course it's not the best Fallout game. Fallout 2 is. NV is just the runner-up.

Those are sites that tech people read a lot. Guess who implements comment threads?

I wonder if they even kept on Denton's Hungarian squad who originally developed Kinja, or if Univision handed it off to a new team. Considering that it was originally developed as something closer to Digg than what it ended up being used for, I suspect the codebase is pretty rough.

Will the new site still support letter ratings as a form of metadata on articles? The only Kinja site currently that does reviews (Kotaku) doesn't do letter ratings at all.
