Oh, just wait for the Mormon War article…

Good point, well made. Thanks.

Before the announcement, when the "trouble casting" rumors were flying around, tons of people on the internet were going nuts about how they should just cast a Bollywood actor. I didn't understand that at all.

B- seems reasonable for a movie that's fun and has a lot of cool shit but has weak leads.

IV is the man to call when you want a good review of a genre movie.

It's the eyebrows. Between them they have at least three persons' worth of eyebrow.

Isn't it A.A. Dowd who gives lower grades? Skimming over the last few dozen of Ignatiy's reviews, there's a decent number of B-, B, B+ in there. No A's, lots of C's and D's, but that also seems to be because they give him a lot of garbage movies (a Bruce Willis passion project! Despicable Me 3!).

Are the comics usually referred to by the full title? Even before this movie was on the horizon, I always saw people refer to the comics as just Valérian.

Now we need a Face/Off 2: It Can Be Two Things where Nicolas Cage plays a hockey player who gets his entire face sliced off by an assassin, gets a new face put on, and goes on the warpath for revenge with a razor-edged hockey stick and explosive pucks.

Gandalf does die, but not from the fall. After the fall he chases the Balrog around Moria a bunch before having an epic duel with it on top of a mountain. He kills the Balrog and then keels over dead. Then after a while God resurrects him to go kick ass.

I'm not really a LOTR fan — I never enjoyed the books — but I don't think it's bad storytelling at all. Fairy tales and the like don't usually go out of their way to explain exactly how witches and wizards and the like gained their power and knowledge. What you know about Gandalf in Hobbit/LOTR is what Gandalf allowed

It was a movie I enjoyed watching. It wasn't a particularly accurate adaptation but that doesn't necessarily make a good movie (cough cough Watchmen cough).

Whenever I think about Casino Royale I always forget about the final act, which feels like it's part of a different movie (and I guess it was included in order to set up the sequel).

In an earlier entry Breihan said he doesn't include superhero movies in his definition of action movies. I think the justification for that is a little shaky, but it makes a certain degree of sense.

That must have been what I remembered, then, because I thought for sure I had already heard this story.

Microsoft has Rare's corpse. They actually did do a Jetpac remake in 2006, and a kind of sequel/remake to Sabre Wulf in 2004.

Well, Napoleon's tomb is on my list of places I want to go when I go to France, so it's not that weird to me.

I've read the DNC emails. At no point was there any evidence of collusion between DWS and/or the DNC and the Clinton campaign.

He kind of looks like someone from Game of Thrones came out of the TV and decided to go live with The Dude.

#1 - she didn't.
