My understanding is that licensing deals for streaming services work like "here's the shows and movies we're offering this year, pick any 10". So they have to drop some shows to pick up others.
If it lost Parks and Rec and/or 30 Rock, that would be the End Of Days, basically. Those shows were major highlights of their early streaming library.
One of the best things about DS9 is that they chose from the start to mostly avoid the classic Trek aliens: Vulcans, Romulans, and (originally) Klingons. (Klingons coming into the story in a big way was due to the studio pressuring them to add Worf to the cast.)
I agree. I'm neutral on the change to Veidt's plan — there's many worse things in the movie — but it doesn't make a ton of sense to me, for exactly that reason, that Doc Manhattan would be viewed as an American weapon, and that you'd expect the ICBMs to already be in the air as soon as the USSR detected the explosions.
I really loathe Snyder's movie, but I think cutting the Black Freighter is reasonable. Watchmen is a story about costumed vigilantes, among other things, but it's also a comic book about comic book heroes. The Black Freighter, the EC comics stuff in the interstitials, Max Shea, etc. are all kind of part of that…
At least Snyder ended up setting it in the correct period. Hayter's original script was set in the modern day.
That's major. The ending is also seriously whiffed, mostly because the movie does a total hatchet job on Ozymandias.
African-Americans (and I use that term specifically; it's not true of people of African descent worldwide) have a higher incidence of high blood pressure, develop it younger, and have worse complications from it than white Americans. This is probably mostly genetic, but exacerbated by the higher obesity rates among…
The President in the US does not have anything to do with amending the Constitution.
The vast majority of meat (US) Americans eat is chicken, beef, and pork. How much of each is largely dictated by supply — chicken is cheaper than beef now, so we eat more chicken. That's about 90% of total meat and seafood consumption, just those three.

Which is part of why it was pretty easy to write stories where Spider-Man and Venom teamed up. All you needed was to make Venom temporarily more angry at someone else. Which basically is why Carnage was created (for better or worse): to serve as a villain that Venom will always prioritize over his feud with Spider-Man.
Hey, people said that about the 2600 Pac-Man at the time, too!
I think it's a safe strategy to estimate the faddishness versus staying power of a new A/V advance by seeing what the porn industry thinks of it. HD and 4k: they were on those immediately. 3D TV: barely any interest at all. VR: lots of interest. It might always be a niche but I think it's already ahead of 3D TV.
Jack Tramiel's Atari Corporation (which was the hardware company that emerged when post-crash Atari split in two; the software IP went with Atari Games) merged with JT Storage, which then pretty much liquidated Atari. JTS sold the IP to Hasbro in 1998 and then quickly went out of business. Hasbro lumped the Atari IP…
This isn't even the Atari that owns the games. Time Warner owns all the IP for pre-crash Atari software. This is the reanimated husk of Jack Tramiel's Atari Corporation, which made the ST and the Jaguar and the Lynx.
There was a lot of talking above about the Beatles being arch, playful, but kind of chilly versus the Beach Boys being polished and sincere but also kind of infantile and corny. Well, the Kinks give you the best of both worlds. It's not even an album-to-album or song-to-song thing — depending on the mood I'm in, Villag…
