Every time I see those ads I yell at the TV for Kevin Smith to pick a side: shorts or pants. You can't have both!
The worst thing they did was end the last episode with a freeze frame. What an insult!
I had no idea Jessica was on Jack & Bobby! This is the cancelled show I always go back to that I wish had made it. I'd like to say it was ahead of its time, but it should have worked; it had sort of a Wonder Years sensibility. Really great casting too. I wonder if it would have fared better on a major network,
And still hot. Aged up appropriately :)
"Pete … was clearly a shit from the start."
And it rode the "anti-hero" wave of Sopranos, Breaking Bad, etc.
I used to be up on everything music, but once my focus shifted to writing, I know one corner of the book industry and nothing at all music-wise. I listen to goddamn Ellie Goulding and that's new to me. With TV, there is so much GOOD TV now, it's really hard to keep up. I liked The Americans, but we got behind and the…
I would read one about Betty Draper and horses.
I don't know the rest of this… why?
Coach Z Coach Z!
Wow thanks! I skimmed the article. Given what I've read about Scientology and about Michael Jackson, a Scientology recruitment gimmick fits right in there. That makes far more sense to me than anything else, actually! Crazy world.
That really got to me. And the text showing that Scientology isn't geared toward caring for children or something… yikes.
Good to know. I may check out the book. The personal accounts were clearly new to me, but the broader information about the religion was known for me already.
Like his former publicist said in the film, he could be a big factor in taking down the religion if he stepped out and spoke up. I agree he'd likely find public support for coming clean and shedding the hold the religion has over him.
This. I've now watched the doc, and it was done well and informative. Though perhaps due to my previous interest in learning about Scientology, I wasn't exactly shocked by much in it (with exception to the woman who found her child in a urine-soaked crib with visible infections *shudder*). This is fairly "standard"…
Is anything about this in the book version of Going Clear? Fascinating….
It's like this photo essay I saw of a Russian who was allowed access to North Korean sites as a diplomat; the high tech school he was shown was a dusty classroom full of unplugged computers.
My husband went to the Mitch Hedberg, Dave Attel, Lewis Black tour and I'm so jealous he got to see Mitch. I don't care about the other guys so much either.
Really? Why do you know that? Props.
