And that is why it is such a bummer. The episodes from season one had actual plot lines that were quirky and unusual, not to mention hilarious. In my opinion, there is nothing hilarious about R/M as much anymore.

I second that. As I stated above, even since season one I feel the show has lost charm. It's no longer the witty science adventure coated in existential banter laced with nihilistic undertones.
