I actually just assumed that it was a sales reason. Being that it's a business that's the only real factor in the decision making. It would seem that once the 3DS XL became available that it's sales were significant enough over the standard to warrant the limited options.

Yeah, I really think they should do the allotment setup. I'm in central time zone, and I've lost out to the east coast so much. It's not like it would cause a sales problem. If one area ran out, but another isn't selling they just ship them around.

That's something that blows my mind. I've run into this with other special editions. They get announced on one day, and the next morning they sell out an hour before any stores in my time zone opens.
